Zebra launches a new version of its ultra-rugged UHF RFID sleds. The Zebra RFD90 model, which is characterized by being "relentless, versatile and future-proof". These sleds offer all the reliability even in the most demanding environments. One of its most interesting features is that they are designed to resist and endure over time. Equipped with the latest technology that will continue to be compatible with software updates from other terminals and with wireless connection to simplify management and expand its compatibility.

The two versions available are RFD9030 and RFD9090. Both RFID reading devices make it possible to streamline inventory counts and increase workflow accuracy thanks to their reading range and range, 6.7 meters for the RFD9030 variant and 22.9 meters for the RFD9090, in addition to a speed of 1300 tags per second for all versions of the RFD90 series.

These ultra-resistant designs have been subjected to drop tests of up to two meters on concrete surfaces and are sealed with industrial grade IP ratings up to IP65 (liquid spraying) and IP67 (total immersion in liquids).

They have an ultra-precise search mode that helps workers locate items quickly and easily. Equipped with a programmable trifunctional trigger that offers easy access to RFID reading, barcode scanning and other necessary functions. In addition, its superior ergonomics allow you to experience greater comfort and provide greater productivity. The bases allow you to exchange mobile terminals simply using a currency as a screwdriver: it is as easy as changing the case of your personal smartphone.

RFD90 Applications

These new models are designed to withstand everyday use in a wide variety of harsh conditions, including manufacturing, transportation, and logistics environments. Another sector where they can also be employed is in the Public Administration. In summary, RFD90 serves to:

  • Track and trace of items.
  • Cycle counts.
  • Cold chain.
  • Inventory of raw materials.
  • Creation of kits.
  • Chain of custody.

Flexible connectivity

RFD90 sleds are compatible with virtually any mobile device. The eConnex adapters allow you to mount a wide selection of Zebra mobile terminals, while the OtterBox uniVERSE adapter offers compatibility with third-party smartphones thanks to the integrated Bluetooth 5.3, which allows you to connect with Android, iOS, and Windows devices. Device pairing can be easily done using NFC, camera, and scan options (Scan-To-Connect).
